* Jet Threat! *

This is the first known CIPSA Jet Threat. I bought it off eBay in September, 2004.
It was stolen from me at the HW Convention in October 2006.
Other colors are Jet Threat are now known.

The casting is of the later version which has the engine cover cast shut.
This version is common to the 1973 Shell promos and the 1977 Jet Threat 2.
However, it appears to be unique in several ways.

1. "Through Hole" redline wheels all around.
2. Clear plastic canopy.
3. Odd metallic redlines on the wheels.
4. The color is slightly different than the Shell color.
5. The "seam" on the side had been polished out.

This shows the Shell Promo version above the CIPSA version.
The CIPSA color is a bit lighter and the canopy is clear.
The seam on the side is much less pronounced on the CIPSA piece as though it were buffed down before painting.

The base material is dull on the CIPSA piece and the rear spin post is unspun.

The CIPSA car is on the left and the Shell Promo is on the right.
The wheels are quite different as the redline strip is metallic looking and the center hole looks a bit larger.
Also notice the distinct seam on Shell is absent on the CIPSA car.

These two new colors were found in Mexico this year.
