This is one of the two known metal base pre-production Superfine Turbines.
I purchased it in October, 2004 at the Convention in Irvine CA.
It originally came from an employee who currently resides in the DFW area.
The yellow paint is very similar in color to the normal Hong Kong production version.
The front wheels are unfinished, no red stripe, no chrome.
The rear wheels look to be normal for the casting.
The absence of text on the base is diagnostic of a preproduction piece as are the unfinished front wheels.
The base is held on with screws, a technique which has been seen in "test" pieces on several occasions.
The traces of a sticker are also indicative of a "test" prototype.
I have found no casting variations in the body or motor.
